The team engages in various welfare activities to uplift the living standards of the tribal community residing in the forest. During the auspicious occasion of Onam, the team purchases goods from ConsumerFed and conducts Onam Chanta for the people living in the forest. In the unfortunate event of a member's demise, the group provides a grant of Rs 2,500 for the posthumous rites.
Furthermore, the team extends transportation facilities and small financial assistance to tribal students residing in external hostels in case of necessity. The team is also in the process of establishing a savings bank account for its members that offers a 5 percent interest rate. Additionally, small loans up to Rs 10,000 will be provided to members.
The area being in the buffer zone, road construction and other construction activities are hindered.
However, funding has been sanctioned for forest resource collection under the Punarjani scheme for the revival of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This initiative is expected to enable the payment of wages for guaranteed employment to members through the Aadhaar linked system.
The team's exceptional work has been recognized through numerous awards. For 18 years, the Mannarkkad taluk's best Scheduled Caste Corporation Sangh has been receiving the award. In 2022, the team was awarded the Best Scheduled Tribe Cooperative in Palakkad district. The team was also awarded the Best Scheduled Tribe Cooperative in the State in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
